The Art of Magick
Ten Card Reading
Seals and Sigils

Thanks to Hollywood, Witchcraft is often most closely associated with dusty old tomes of strange writing and mysterious symbols known only to a chosen few daring enough to explore the dark arts. In reality, Witches and other magickal people have been using the drawn, carved, and sculpted signs, also known as sigils, ve-ve, or talismans, before even writing was developed. The earliest cave drawings are a form of magickal sigil! Modern talismans include the Christian cross and Jewish Star of David. While commonly thought of as signs of religious faith, these revered symbols contain much power.

The Witches’ most commonly used sigil is the Pentagram, written with their signature, drawn into spells, or worn as a pentacle ring or pendant. This ancient magickal symbol forms the shape of the human body surrounded by the circle of universal wisdom and protection. Many Witches wear their pentacles as a symbol of their pride, but most importantly for the protection and wisdom that it provides.
